Hi, my name name is Anna and I am the Principal of Momenta Dance Academy.

After spending over 20 years in the industry, working with independent choreographers and guest teaching in educational settings, the time came to fulfil my ambition of setting up my own dance school.
I am a professionally trained dancer, movement specialist and qualified dance teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance.
My aim is to develop a dance community for all ages and skill levels, where knowledge, artistry and a love of dance is at the beating heart of the academy.

Whether students attend for recreational or professional purposes, I strive to ensure all Momenta Dancers receive quality training to achieve their best, in a friendly and supportive environment.

I look forward to welcoming you to Momenta very soon.

My Story

Starting from a young age I trained with the Royal Academy of Dance for Ballet, as well as studying other forms of dance including; Modern, Jazz and Contemporary, all to advanced levels.
Following the offer of a full scholarship for professional training, I attended Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama, which set my path for over 20 years of freelancing; working with independent choreographers and performing in Theatres around the UK and on the European stage. As well as guest teaching at educational establishments throughout the North of England.

Later on, my curiosity for movement took me to study Ballroom and Latin, where I had the opportunity to compete in open competitions. Starting out in 10 dance, I moved to study Ballroom in more depth, achieving finalist in all my categories, as well as Vice Champion at Blackpool Dance Festival and I am currently working towards my Professional exams.

Along my journey, I have been fortunate to work with young athletes for British Athletics, supporting their training and improving quality of movement through cross-training- work which took me to study modules in Strength and Conditioning at St Marys University and qualify as a Pilates Instructor.

Away from dance, I studied acting from a young age, going on to become one of the top 5 young actors in the UK. Whilst I never exclusively pursued acting, the knowledge as proven valuable in dance and I have been known to make a small appearance in TV productions every now and then, from productions such as BBC Three “Frankenstein” to the Netflix detective thriller “Bodies”.

I now look forward to the next chapter of passing on my knowledge and industry experience and helping others to discover their own passion for dance.
